Aleena Ahmed from RootsIVY Riverview Campus ALevels Class Of 2019 attended an exclusive Brown University 2019 Pre-College Program. It was a transformative and life changing sojourn at the Brown Leadership Institute which enabled her to interact and form lasting bonds with students of multiple nationalities. Aleena fondly reminisces , “Brown has always been my dream university. Before joining Roots IVY I had heard that Roots IVY transforms dreams to reality but it was a surreal experience when I actualised my ambition this summer.
Born and raised in Baltimore USA transitioning to Pakistan was a challenge for me but Roots IVY eased me seamlessly into this transition. The leadership institute at Brown is all about exploring various social issues and fostering positive change. This summer I contributed my perspective to discussions with groups of multifaceted individuals and acquired valuable leadership skills that would last me a life time . I am grateful to Ma’am Khadija Mushtaq for her mentoring and guidance.”
