Roots IVY Marks 23 Years of Partnership at the University of London Foundation Day

Roots IVY Academic Network was honoured to be represented at the University of London Foundation Day by our Pro Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement and Partnerships, Raana Sarmad. Foundation Day is always a special moment in the University’s calendar, a day when the global UOL community comes together to celebrate its long history, shared values, and the spirit of learning that has shaped generations since the granting of its first royal charter in 1836. Led each year by The Princess Royal in her role as Chancellor, the event carries a sense of tradition and pride, while also recognising individuals who have made remarkable contributions through the awarding of honorary degrees.

For Roots IVY, this year was particularly meaningful as we celebrate 23 years of partnership with the University of London, a relationship built on trust, academic excellence, and a shared commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for students in Pakistan.

Raana had the opportunity to connect with senior colleagues from the University of London Worldwide team, including Dr Sky Zheng, Executive Director; Janie Kingsley, Director of Global Business Development; Victoria Wade, Director of the University of London Careers Service alongside other colleagues from the wider UOL team and colleagues from RTCs.

A major highlight of the discussions was the University of London’s ongoing focus on global student support. Their strengthened initiatives in mental health, wellbeing, and employability, now extended across Recognised Teaching Centres worldwide, reflect a thoughtful, student-centred approach that resonates strongly with our own values at Roots IVY.

As we reflect on more than two decades of collaboration, Roots IVY remains committed to building on this partnership and continuing to create impactful, future-focused learning pathways for students across Pakistan.
