IVY Alumnus Saba Zaidi after graduating from Harvard is currently employed at Google .

IVY Alumna Rabea Khalid is currently working at UN headquarters, Isra Shabbir after graduating from MIT has worked as Immunology Researcher at Columbia. The years at Roots IVY equip our students with the requisite skills and knowledge so they stand out in the competitive professional life.

Dr. Hajra Malik

RootsIVY holds a special place in my heart as it is where my journey of leadership, resilience, and strength began. The nurturing environment provided by the school empowered me to dream big and strive for excellence in all aspects of my life. Ma’am Khadija Mushtaq served as a beacon of motivation, guiding me through challenges and instilling in me the belief that no dream is too big to achieve. All of my teachers and particularly Ma’am Durre Sameen’s encouragement and support propelled me to take on the role of President at the IYLO’17 event, a milestone achievement that opened doors to immense growth and opportunities. It helped me discover my potential and learn the value of leadership and perseverance.

The experiences and lessons learned at Roots IVY have shaped me into the person I am today, enabling me to pursue my passion for medicine at the prestigious Aga Khan University. Today, as I have successfully graduated and embarked on my journey as a doctor, I carry with me the invaluable lessons and memories from my alma mater. Roots IVY has played a pivotal role in my life. I joined the school for A-levels, knowing its reputation for investing deeply in its students – testament to Ma’am Khadija’s hardwork. It wasn’t long before I saw this for myself. I quickly found myself surrounded by active student organizations and calendar filled with opportunities to develop beyond the classroom. I picked up the learnings made available to me and founded Youth Mechatronics Society. With the support of RootsIVY, and endorsement from our fearless coach we went on to compete in national engineering competitions. On the other hand, when it came to college admissions, Roots IVY surrounded us with top counsellors and advice.

These two years at RootsIVY had a profound impact on my outlook. I not only received the mentorship I needed but also a safe place to play, fail, and learn. These experiences unlocked for me full ride to Drexel University in its Global Scholar Program with Economics and Finance degree. After completing multiple internship, post-graduation, I started working full-time at a renowned Investment Management Firm in San Francisco. who was a brilliant student of Class of 2014 and remained DAWN SPELLING BEE CHAMP. for 3 consecutive years expresses her gratitude for her alma mater on #RootsIVY 36th Anniversary! “I am proud to have been a part of the Roots family from preschool all the way through A levels.

I will always be grateful for the nurturing, support and motivation I received from my wonderful teachers to dream big and work hard. I graduated from Aga Khan University in 2019 and am now a US board certified pediatrician. I am currently doing a Pediatric Critical Care (ICU) fellowship in one of the top hospitals in the US.

I fondly reminisce about my time at Roots School System DHA-1/IVY, where friendships blossomed, dreams soared, and memories were etched into eternity. It wasn’t just a college; it was a nurturing sanctuary that molded not only minds but also hearts, transcending the confines of textbooks. Completing my A-Levels at Roots DHA-1 with distinction, ranking as the top student in North Pakistan across three A-Level subjects, I credit the institution for equipping me with the skills to navigate the complexities of the world beyond its walls. My educational journey continued with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from NUST, followed by an ongoing Master’s in Electrical Engineering at Information Technology University (ITU) Punjab. These academic pursuits paved the path to my current role as a Systems Engineer (MENA) at Digital Automation Technology in Dubai, UAE. Despite my professional growth, I remain rooted in the values instilled at Roots DHA-1/IVY, where I learned that true learning extends beyond textbooks, shaping not just intellect but also character.

In parallel with my studies, I remained committed to the ethos of RSS DHA-1/IVY, embodying values of empathy, compassion, and community service. I actively participated as a mentor at CHADAR, an initiative dedicated to alleviating poverty. Through CHADAR, my team and I distributed hot meals, ration packs, and clothing to marginalized communities, while also spearheading educational projects that left a lasting impact. CHADAR’s initiatives, focused on poverty alleviation, encompassed various activities such as distributing hot meals, providing ration packs to needy families, clothing distribution, and educational support. In Ramadan 2024, over 4000 hot meals and 300 ration packs were distributed. My efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic were recognized with an honor on the Wall of Covid War Heroes at the Governor House Punjab, acknowledging my charitable contributions.

I extend my wisdom to aspiring young minds embarking on their higher education journey. Each lecture is an opportunity, and every setback serves as a lesson in resilience. Even progress in small steps is forward momentum. Never underestimate the power of your own potential.
