This course will help you develop a better understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations and provide the skills and techniques needed for making informed investment decisions in dynamic business environments. It will also help you understand the power and limitations of accountancy and financial techniques and how they complement other subject areas, particularly those which fall under the wider umbrella of business.

Admissions Requirement for BSc Accounting & Finance

In order to achieve 16 years of education equivalence from Higher Education Commission Pakistan, it is essential to have completed 12 years of local education (Metric/Intermediate) or 8 O-levels and 3 A-levels. In other instances, you will normally need to have the following for Standard Route:

Course Modules

The BSc degree is available through a 12 course Standard Route. To complete the programme in as few as three years, students must take the equivalent of four full courses per year.

Year 1: Level 4
    • Introduction to Economics Compulsory
    • Mathematics-1 (half course) Compulsory
    • Statistics-1 (half course) Compulsory
    • Principles of Accounting
    • Principles of Banking and Finance Compulsory
Year 2: Level 5
    • Financial Management Compulsory
    • Micro-Economics Compulsory
    • Financial Reporting Compulsory
    • Auditing and Assurance Compulsory
Year 3: Level 6
    • Management Accounting Compulsory
    • Accounting Theory
    • Compulsory
    • One 200/300 Course from any Selection Group Compulsory
    • One 100/200/300 Course from any Selection Group Compulsory

Assessments in BSc Accounting & Finance

Aside from a few exceptions, each full course is examined by one three-hour unseen written examination and each half course by one two-hour unseen written examination. The assessment of some courses also involves the submission of coursework or a project – in these cases, details are included as part of the course syllabus.

Mode of Study in BSc Accounting & Finance

The programme is taught using face-to-face learning. Students will have access to IVY resources as well as University of London VLE to complete their studies/modules. Support will be provided by local tutors at IVY.
